🎤 Sunday Swiftie – July 13, 2025

Kelce brothers light up the golf course, beginner football breakdowns, and a hidden Swiftie album challenge! 🏌️‍♂️✨

💌 Dear Reader

Happy Sunday! Whether you’re in your golf era or just here for the football, we’ve got a packed issue for you. From the Kelce brothers owning Tahoe to a breakdown of football basics and a clever Easter Egg hunt, this week’s Sunday Swiftie is full of laughs, learning, and a little friendly competition. Let’s get into it!

🎯 Sideline Report

The Kelce brothers took over Lake Tahoe at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament — and turned a golf weekend into content gold.

🎥 On Saturday, Jason Kelce went viral for what he told the media about his relationship with his brother.

🗣️ Jason told media that Travis is his “best friend on the planet” and praised him as “a great uncle” to his daughters. It was a weekend that showed how close they are — both on and off the field. ❤️

🎤 Later that night, they crashed karaoke and took turns singing Bob Seger and Elvis Presley classics. Travis and Jason had the crowd going evermore wild with every note, and their chemistry was on full display.

🏟️ NFL World: Quick Hits

  • 🛑 The Steelers have reportedly asked around the league to gauge the trade value of pass rusher T.J. Watt, one of the NFL’s most dominant defenders.

  • 🏌️‍♂️ The Kelces didn’t top the scoreboard, but they definitely led in fun and fan-favorite moments.

We’re now just 17 days away from the Hall of Fame Game (July 31: Chargers vs. Lions). Training camps are opening league-wide this week, including rookie check-ins across multiple teams. It's shaping up to be a season to speak now or stay quiet until February.

📚 Swiftie Study Hall

Lesson: What does a quarterback do… and what’s “the pocket”?

The quarterback (QB) is the leader of the offense. He gets the ball from the center and either throws it, hands it off, or runs with it.

The pocket is the protected area behind the offensive line where the quarterback stands to throw. If the pocket holds, the QB has time to find an open receiver. If it breaks down, he has to move, scramble, or risk being tackled (a “sack”).

📌 Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is known for being fearless and staying calm in the pocket — and also for making amazing throws on the run.

🐣 Swiftie Easter Egg – Cover Title Challenge

🎁 This week’s challenge is for the eagle-eyed Swifties:

There are three Taylor Swift album titles subtly hidden in today’s newsletter — not bolded, not called out — just woven into everyday sentences. Some may be obvious, others might be harder to find.

📀 They might be in a football phrase. They might be hiding in a quote. They will make you feel clever when you find all 3.

💬 Think you’ve spotted all three? Reply to this email with your guesses. The first 5 correct answers will get a shoutout in next week’s issue! 🏆✨

💬 Fan Q&A

Q: Realistically, who do you think will become TE1 once TK decides to retire (hopefully not for a bit)? Will someone rise from the ranks (Noah?) or will it be a trade/draft pick?
— @the_alchemaria

A: Great question — and yes, hopefully we have a few more seasons of Travis Kelce magic before we have to worry too much.

Right now, Noah Gray is the top in-house option. He’s solid and dependable, but he's only ever been used as TE2 (the second tight end on the field). He hasn't yet shown that he can fill Kelce’s shoes as a #1.

If Jared Wiley, our 2024 rookie tight end, doesn’t flash big potential this year, the Chiefs could look to draft a tight end early in 2026, or even go after a proven free agent. A big name to watch? Kyle Pitts. He’s entering the final year of his rookie deal and could be available next offseason.

So the answer is: it depends. Gray is the safe fallback, but the long-term answer might not be on the roster yet.

Q: Which player (for you) has the best game day fits?
— @the_alchemaria

A: You already know the answer…

💯 Travis Kelce is in a league of his own when it comes to game day fashion. From custom varsity coats to color-matching with Taylor, the man rarely misses.

If you want a full breakdown of his best outfits, I’ve got you covered — here’s my X post of Travis Kelce’s best game day fits.

Honorable mentions:

  • Patrick Mahomes: Always clean and classic — often reps KC brands.

  • Chris Jones: Underrated style.

  • Rashee Rice: Quietly climbing the ranks last year with bold color pops.
