🏈 Weekly AFC West Recap | The Daily Chief – October 14th, 2025

Week 6 saw dominant defense in Denver, a bounce-back for the Raiders, and a statement win at Arrowhead.

🟫 Las Vegas Raiders (2–4)

Final: Raiders 20, Titans 10

The Raiders finally looked like the team Pete Carroll has been preaching about for weeks. Behind a relentless pass rush and the best defensive showing of their season, Las Vegas snapped a four-game losing streak with a gritty 20–10 win over the Titans.

Devin White was everywhere β€” nine tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception β€” putting together a stat line worthy of his All-Pro days in Tampa Bay. Maxx Crosby added two sacks, and Jonah Laulu continued his breakout year with another.

Geno Smith wasn’t spectacular (174 yards, 1 TD) but managed the game effectively, while rookie RB Ashton Jeanty chipped in 75 yards and a touchdown. It wasn’t flashy, but it was physical β€” the kind of defensive performance the Raiders have been missing all season.

Still, with only 174 yards through the air and one red-zone trip, it’s clear Las Vegas must find more offensive rhythm. The Chiefs will have no problem game-planning for this version of the Raiders if the offense remains one-dimensional.

🟧 Denver Broncos (4–2)

Final: Broncos 13, Jets 11

It was very ugly, but it was a win. The Broncos defense delivered its best game in years β€” racking up nine sacks in London to take down the winless Jets, 13–11.

Patrick Surtain called it β€œa pleasure to watch,” and for good reason. Jonathon Cooper and Justin Strnad sealed the win with a sack on fourth-and-8 to end the game, capping a performance that held New York to minus-10 passing yards β€” the fewest allowed by any team in the league since 1998.

Bo Nix threw an early touchdown to Nate Adkins and managed the game well despite limited offensive fireworks. Denver’s offense stalled often (5-for-15 on third downs), but Wil Lutz’s late field goal gave them their third straight victory.

At 4–2, Sean Payton’s group has momentum β€” but they’ve yet to face the kind of firepower that waits in Kansas City, and have struggled against bad teams.

πŸ”΅ Los Angeles Chargers (4–2)

Final: Chargers 29, Dolphins 27

The Chargers escaped Miami with a win that was equal parts thrilling and concerning. Justin Herbert’s late-game heroics β€” highlighted by a 42-yard connection to rookie Ladd McConkey β€” set up Cameron Dicker’s fifth field goal of the afternoon to secure a 29–27 victory.

Herbert finished 29-of-38 for 264 yards and two touchdowns, while rookie RB Kimani Vidal exploded for 124 rushing yards and a receiving score. McConkey added seven catches for 100 yards and a touchdown, continuing his impressive rookie campaign.

Still, this was far from dominant. The Dolphins (1-5) clawed back from a double-digit deficit, and the Chargers again flirted with disaster thanks to 10 penalties and shaky red-zone execution. A win is a win β€” but the cracks remain. Chiefs fans have seen this script before.

πŸ”΄ Kansas City Chiefs (3–3)

Final: Chiefs 30, Lions 17

Back at Arrowhead, Kansas City reminded the NFL exactly who they are. Patrick Mahomes and the offense moved with rhythm and confidence, while Steve Spagnuolo’s defense bottled up Detroit’s rushing attack in a complete 30–17 victory.

The Chiefs improved to 3–3 on the year and looked sharper than they have since Week 1. Hollywood found the endzone twice, Travis Kelce led the team in catches, and the pass rush came alive in crucial spots to stifle Jared Goff’s comeback efforts.
