🏈 Weekly AFC West Recap | The Daily Chief – October 21st, 2025

The Chiefs deliver a shutout statement, the Broncos make history, and the Chargers’ slide continues.

🟧 Denver Broncos (5-2)

Final: Broncos 33, Giants 32

What started as one of the ugliest games of the season ended in one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history. Shut out for three quarters, Denver erupted for 33 points in the fourth to stun the Giants 33-32.

Bo Nix was unstoppable down the stretch, becoming the first player ever to record two passing and two rushing touchdowns in a single fourth quarter. The Broncos scored on each of their final five possessions, capped by Wil Lutz’s game-winning 39-yard field goal as time expired.

At one point, Denver’s win probability was less than 1%. Yet Sean Payton’s team refused to fold, showing the fight that’s turned their season around. The Broncos have now won four straight and eight in a row at home — but we’ll see how they handle prosperity with tougher opponents looming.

🔵 Los Angeles Chargers (4-3)

Final: Colts 38, Chargers 24

The Chargers’ inconsistency continued in Week 7. Despite Justin Herbert’s career-high 420 yards and three touchdowns, Los Angeles never seriously threatened Indianapolis in a 38-24 home loss.

The defense couldn’t contain Jonathan Taylor, who scored three times as the Colts jumped out to a 23-3 halftime lead and never looked back. Herbert was intercepted twice and pressured constantly, and while the offense mounted a second-half rally, it was too little, too late.

Jim Harbaugh’s group has now dropped three of its last four after a 3-0 division start. For all the hype early in the season, the Chargers are showing the same flaws — penalties, slow starts, and an inability to close against playoff-caliber teams.

🔴 Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)

Final: Chiefs 31, Raiders 0

Kansas City sent a message to the entire AFC West with a commanding shutout win over Las Vegas at Arrowhead. The Chiefs dominated every phase of the game, controlling the tempo and never letting the Raiders gain any momentum.
